DECLARATION
On November 30th, 2020, the Court of Nghe An province will trial Mr. Tran Duc Thach on charges of joining the Brotherhood for Democracy (BFD) to overthrow the People’s government under Clause 1, Article 109 of the 2015 Criminal Code. The Brotherhood for Democracy affirms that:
1 / There is no People’s government in Vietnam because the Vietnamese people do not have the right to institute or abolish the government, as prescribed in the Constitution.
2 / In Vietnam, there is only the dictatorial Communist government, formed by the top communist class and inherited from the previous class to the next. This government is not instituted by more than 4 million members of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
3 / The fight to abolish the Communist dictatorship in Vietnam is the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of all Vietnamese at home and abroad, including more than 4 million members of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
4 / The Brotherhood for Democracy considers the arrest, investigation, prosecution, and conviction by the Vietnamese Communist government of individuals and organizations for abolishing the dictatorship regime in Vietnam as a crime against humanity.
5 / The Brotherhood for Democracy strongly condemns this crime of the dictatorial government of Vietnam.
6 / The Brotherhood for Democracy calls on all Vietnamese people inside and outside the country and the international community to strongly condemn the crimes committed by the dictatorial government of Vietnam.
7 / The Brotherhood for Democracy requires the Vietnamese Communist dictatorship to immediately and unconditionally release Mr. Tran Duc Thach and all detained prisoners of conscience, political prisoners.
