More than 500 members of the Brotherhood for Democracy(BFD) in Vietnam and around the world would like to inform the UK Home Office and the US Federal Bureau of Investigation about Le Thanh Tung.
Le Thanh Tung was born in 1977 in Vietnam. Le Thanh Tung is currently living in the United States.
Le Thanh Tung was a member of the Brotherhood For Democracy and was removed from membership on September 24, 2018.
Le Thanh Tung was recruited by the Vietnamese Security Agency in 2013.
Le Thanh Tung was assigned to work at the Redemptorist Order in District 3, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Le Thanh Tung’s mission was to cause division and disunity among the Redemptorist Priests. And Tung provided internal information of the Redemptorist Order to the Vietnamese Security Agency.
In 2014, the Redemptorist Priests expelled Le Thanh Tung from the Redemptorist Order.
In February 2015, Le Thanh Tung tried every way to join the Brotherhood for Democracy.
In April 2015, Le Thanh Tung persuaded the leaders of BFD to change the organizational structure. This made the Vietnamese Security Agency pay attention and monitor all activities of BFD.
As a result, on December 16, 2015, two important members of BFD were arrested. They were Vice President and founder of BFD Nguyen Van Dai and project assistant Le Thu Ha.
At the end of January 2016, Le Thanh Tung fled to Thailand. Later, Le Thanh Tung fled to the US to seek asylum on the grounds that BFD was being persecuted. Le Thanh Tung has been residing in the US since then.
But in reality, Le Thanh Tung is just an ordinary member. Le Thanh Tung was not monitored by the Security Agency but was also assisted and paid by the Security Agency.
Le Thanh Tung’s main purpose was to go to the United States to continue to sabotage Vietnamese organizations at home and abroad.
On July 30, 2017, Le Thanh Tung caused 4 leading members of BFD to be arrested. Then, in September 2017, 3 more leading members of BFD were arrested.
Thus, all leading members of BFD were arrested.
Following the orders of the Vietnamese Security Agency, Le Thanh Tung wanted to take over BFD to serve their purposes.
But Le Thanh Tung’s scheme was opposed by the remaining members of BFD.
Meanwhile, following the orders of the Security Agency, Le Thanh Tung joined the Independent Journalists Association.
As a result, all leaders of the Independent Journalists Association such as Mr. Pham Chi Dung, Nguyen Tuong Thuy, … were arrested.
From 2018 to present, Le Thanh Tung has carried out three tasks assigned by the Vietnamese Security Agency:
1/ Contacting dissidents in Vietnam. Then, providing information about dissidents for the Vietnamese Security Agency to arrest. Dozens of dissidents have been arrested in Vietnam because Le Thanh Tung provided information to the Vietnamese Security Agency;
2/ Le Thanh Tung has sought every way to cause division and conflict among members of an organization; cause division and conflict between organizations; cause division and isolate dissidents when they seek asylum abroad.
3/ Slandering and sabotaging political organizations that oppose the Vietnamese communist government.
Currently, Le Thanh Tung is trying every way to sabotage and disintegrate the Brotherhood for Democracy.
Le Thanh Tung is a dangerous spy of the Vietnamese Security Agency in the United States.
